Work in Progress......

Welcome to my website.

Thank you so much for being interested enough in my writing that you have decided to have a look at what else I do!

I tell everyone that it's research - and a lot of fun!

August 2023

Visiting Jane Austen's House in Chawton and Regency Dress Up Day last month.

If you have yet to visit Cassandra's Orchard at Jane Austen's House in Hampshire, I would definitely recommend it.

Of course it is research! And very restful - although you can see the wind starting to whip up as the dresses on the washing line start dancing!

July 2023

It's been a busy time, and a lot of fun gathering inspiration for stories. Went to a fabulous ball at 'The Garden of Hesperides' at The Grange in Hampshire in a howling  summer storm including a Met Office Amber weather warning for wind.

Had so much fun enjoying  Mrs Bennett's Ballroom's fabulous Ball (and dancing with her amazing dancers)

The kind of adventure that the best gothic tales are made of !

May 2023

The Jane Austen Festival "Strawberries and Cream" inspired ball is in June and planning starts for the Jane Austen Festival in Bath 2023 which will hopefully include a trip to the Pump Rooms (and the Masquerade ball captured beautifully here in Owen Benson's video from 2019).

I have also been working on a second longer Regency romance... more about that another time!

September 2022

The Jane Austen Festival Bath 2022 has been once more in full swing! Soirees, balls, picnics and promenading.  Always a great opportunity to don your best bonnet and fully immerse yourself in the fun of it all!

April 2022

Its been a long few years my friends - but Sandition on ITV is back with us! Season 2 carries on where Season 1 left off after only a few months.

October 2019

Addicted to "Sanditon" on ITV! Still! I cannot help myself! Charlotte and Sidney are fabulous. Just what you need to cheer you up when you are experiencing a bit of the old writers block. Still got a few more episodes to go - I sincerely hope they do not make me blub again.

September 2019

There is only one thing to do when feedback on your latest effort is less than stellar - watch the unfolding thrills of "Sanditon" instead.

Started by Jane Austen, finished by Andrew Davies, not everyone likes it, but I think Jane may well have loved it,  just as I do.  It is a fabulous romp whatever the current feedback might say!

I love a carriage chase!!

October 2019

This month I worked a little more on my Wicked Wastrels story and rewatched my favourite hero and heroine reunite yet again on my favourite TV series.

I love those two!

I also visited the Jane Austen Festival in Bath and had a marvellous weekend tripping over my skirts and buying bonnets and hats.

Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth meet again at Riverrun

September 2019

Jane Austen Festival Bath 2019 - what can I say? If you want a taste of what it is like,  here is the video!

As always the participants' outfits were fabulous!

This month I have been working on a longer regency story which involves a feisty heroine and a very reluctant hero embroiled in a tale of danger, lies and mysterious deaths.  I cannot wait to see how everything turns out!

November 2018

Thinking of what to wear for the Jane Austen Festival 2019 - September 13th to 22nd 2019. I did buy a fabulous new hat at the Guildhall Fayre this year.....

The festival has been captured on a fabulous video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzbLRFDBd0Q

Just the inspiration one needs when working on the next instalment of Wicked Wastrels....

October 2018

October is the month of Halloween and the nights drawing in, as well as having to get up in the mornings when it is still dark!

So.... more evenings sitting inside writing and checking the social media for all my favourite things!

And more time to sit and indulge in getting inspired.

:)
